We’re Live! Viva la Faba Hits Stuttgart’s Food Scene!

September 2026 is a pretty big month for us. It marks a milestone we’ve been working towards for a long long time… It’s been busy. It’s been challenging. It’s been exciting. And at times, it’s definitely been an emotional rollercoaster. But now we can finally say it:
WE’RE LAUNCHING! And this time, for real.
Our first commercial production is officially done and that means two things we’ve been waiting for are finally happening at the same time: Viva la Faba is making its way into Stuttgart’s food scene, and our crowdfunding community is finally getting the cheese packages we promised them.
How did it take this long?
Back in 2024, we launched our crowdfunding campaign to get Viva la Faba off the ground. We promised our backers that in the summer of 2024 they would be able to enjoy our cheese at home. However, things didn’t quite go according to plan.
We developed, tested, changed things, started over and did it all again. Along the way, we ran into more challenges than we could have imagined: from sourcing our fava bean protein and the sudden insolvency of our supplier, to allergen issues within one of our co-producers’ production chains and challenges with the shelf life of our products. There were a lot of hurdles, and honestly, this wasn’t how we had imagined the journey would go at all.
But we kept going. We kept believing in what we were building, working through every challenge and finding a way forward. And after all of that, we can finally say: our first commercial production was a success! The cheese arrived last week, and holding those first packages in our hands felt pretty special. We tasted it, looked at each other, and felt incredibly proud. And yes – it tastes beantastic. 😉

For this first production run, we decided to focus on two products: our shredded cheese and our Intensivo slices. Two more varieties are still in the works and will need a little more time.
SO, the cheese is finally coming to you.
Right now, our crowdfunding packages are being labelled, packed and prepared for shipping – with the help of some amazing volunteers from our Viva la Faba community. Which means that next week, you’ll finally have your long-awaited Viva la Faba cheese in your hands. You’ll get to taste it, melt it, put it on a pizza, add it to a sandwich – and, most importantly, finally tell us what you think.
After waiting for this moment for so long, it honestly still feels a little surreal. We can’t wait to see your reactions and finally deliver on the promise we made to you two years ago.
Meanwhile: Viva la Faba is hitting Stuttgart’s food scene.
At the same time, our Gastro Launch is in full swing. Over the past few months, we’ve been visiting restaurants across Stuttgart, bringing our cheese into professional kitchens, testing it with chefs and caterers, experimenting together and collecting a ton of valuable feedback.

And the biggest takeaway? Viva la Faba works in a real kitchen. It’s easy to handle and behaves a lot like conventional dairy cheese: it melts, browns and stretches. But what makes us especially happy is that the restaurants themselves want to give it a try.
We’re now incredibly excited to have five restaurant partners in Stuttgart putting Viva la Faba on their menus for a trial period. So if you’re in Stuttgart, you can finally try our cheese for yourself – in a variety of different applications and dishes:
@tacolega.str – Quesadilla
@mezzogiorno.stuttgart – Pizza & Parmigiana Rivisitata
@heavenskitchen.rocks – Pizza
@bei.helene – Käsespätzle
@pinsamanufaktur – Pinsa & Pinsini

So, if you want to support us, go check out one of our partners, order a dish with Viva la Faba and let us know what you think. You can also find an overview of all our Gastro partners, along with a rough guide to where they’re located around Stuttgart, in our latest Instagram Post.
Because that’s exactly what this next chapter is about: getting our cheese out into the world, trying it with you, learning from your feedback and figuring out where Viva la Faba belongs on your plate.
We wouldn’t be here without you.
Looking back at the past two years, one thing has become very clear: Viva la Faba wouldn’t be where it is today without our community. Thank you for your patience, your support, your messages and your feedback. Thank you for all the encouraging comments, for checking in on us, and most of all, for continuing to believe in us – even when we couldn’t give you a clear answer on when your cheese would finally arrive.
A community like this is anything but a given, and we’re incredibly grateful that you’ve stayed with us through all the ups and downs.
For the first time, it really feels like everything we’ve been working on for so long is finally becoming real.
In your homes. On Stuttgart’s plates. In kitchens. In restaurants.
And this is only the beginning. Retail is still our next big goal, and we’re already working hard behind the scenes to make that happen, too.
Stay tuned!
