When was Viva la Faba founded?

Viva la Faba GmbH was founded in 2021 by our co-founders Ariana and Jan. Since then, we have been working on rethinking cheese – plant-based, delicious, and based on the Faba bean.

Our home is Stuttgart! More precisely, you'll find our Faba Hub in the heart of Stuttgart-East.

What motivated you to produce plant-based cheese?

We all chose a plant-based diet for different reasons. For some, it was concern for the environment, for others animal welfare, and for still others, health. Some simply had a passion for innovative food. What united us, however, was the desire to help people lead healthier and happier lives while also caring for our planet. We believe that bean-based cheese is the perfect way to achieve these goals.

What do you want to change with Viva la Faba?

At Viva la Faba, we are guided by three values: inspiring, inclusive & real.We want to inspire people with truly delicious food and show that change can be fun and, above all, taste amazing. At the same time, we want to work towards a food system that is fair, respectful, and accessible, and excludes no one. Quite the opposite: we want to encourage everyone to try new things. And for us, "real" also means being transparent: we offer insights behind the scenes, talk about successes as well as challenges, and show that things don't always have to be perfect.

Why are you starting in the restaurant industry?

For our launch, we are deliberately focusing on the Stuttgart restaurant scene. We want you to experience our cheese where it belongs: in the hands of creative chefs and as part of truly delicious dishes.This way, we can explore together what's possible with Viva la Faba, gather direct feedback, and continuously improve our product. At the same time, you can experience our cheese exactly the way we like it best: melted, baked, and of course, super cheesy.And don't worry: we're also keeping an eye on the retail sector. Until then, you can discover and try Viva la Faba in selected restaurants.

Where can I try Viva la Faba?

You can try our cheese at selected partner restaurants in Stuttgart, including Heaven's Kitchen, Tacolega, Weltcafé, vhy!, mezzogiorno, and Helene. And that's just the beginning; we're working on getting it on many more menus.
